Celebrating the Opening of IONETIC’s Arc Fab Pilot Facility
Last night marked a major milestone for IONETIC as we hosted the official opening party for Arc Fab Pilot, our first fabrication facility and a significant step in our mission to transform battery pack development. The event brought together customers, partners, industry leaders, and supporters to witness firsthand the technology and capability that Arc Fab Pilot brings to the UK and European battery landscape.
Situated in Brackley, Arc Fab Pilot is the first demonstration of our highly flexible fabrication approach, designed to accelerate prototype development, reduce engineering overhead, and pave the way for efficient, scalable battery manufacturing. The launch event provided guests with an exclusive first look at this vision in action.
Showcasing Arc Software: Automatic Design, CAD, and CAE
One of the evening’s highlights was the first public demonstration of our Arc Software Stack, which automatically designs complete battery packs, from architecture selection to CAD generation and CAE analysis. Guests saw how our software can rapidly turn initial requirements into validated pack designs, drastically reducing the time and cost typically associated with battery development.
We also previewed a video showing Arc Software designing a pack live.
Live Fabrication: Made-in-Real-Time IONETIC Merchandise
To celebrate the opening, we turned part of Arc Fab Pilot into a live fabrication zone. Using our laser system, we produced custom IONETIC bottle openers on the spot, giving every guest a personalised piece of the facility to take home. This demonstration showed exactly what Arc Fab Pilot stands for: rapid, flexible, high‑precision fabrication using processes that scale from prototype to production.
Flexible Battery Architectures on Display
Visitors were able to explore our latest battery architecture families, designed to support multiple cell formats, including cylindrical, prismatic, and blade. These architectures have been engineered for adaptability, enabling application‑specific optimisation across performance, cost, and manufacturability.
The launch showcased how Arc Software automatically designs these architectures, and how Arc Fab transforms them into physical prototypes with precision and repeatability.
Introducing Cell‑to‑Pack Capability in the UK
A major announcement during the event was the reveal that there is now a Tier 1 supplier in the UK offering cell‑to‑pack (CTP) technology, and it’s here at IONETIC. Guests were able to view a real CTP pack for the first time, representing a leap forward in UK-based battery system capability.
A Landmark Moment for IONETIC
The opening of Arc Fab Pilot represents more than the launch of a facility; it is the start of a new phase for IONETIC, where our software, hardware, and fabrication technologies converge to accelerate electrification.
We’d like to thank everyone who joined us to celebrate this milestone. The enthusiasm and support of our partners and community make achievements like this possible.
Stay tuned for more updates, demonstrations, and technical releases as Arc Fab Pilot begins producing prototypes and delivering cutting-edge battery systems for customers across automotive, commercial vehicle, off‑highway, motorsport, and aviation sectors.
