Powering a High-Performance Marine Platform
For a manufacturer developing a new electric powertrain platform for high-performance marine applications, the battery was the most critical system. The customer’s primary challenge was to develop a single, optimised battery pack that could be used across multiple, diverse marine applications. The Solution
IONETIC engineered a highly optimised battery pack that served as the versatile heart of the customer’s new electrification platform. Leveraging our proprietary software and rigorous in-house cell testing, we evaluated multiple cell options to find one capable of delivering a market-leading continuous discharge rate, while maintaining target unit costs. The pack's energy and dimensions were carefully optimised so that it could function effectively as a single unit for smaller vessels, or be connected in parallel to create a larger array for more demanding applications. This gave the customer a single, powerful, and scalable building block to power their entire portfolio, drastically simplifying their supply chain and accelerating their time-to-market.
