Creating a better way to electrify.
Our mission
Welcome to IONETIC.
IONETIC is a software-accelerated, end-to-end battery pack design and manufacturing company, dedicated to revolutionising the way battery packs are brought to market.
Built by a team of experts from Imperial College London, our journey began as consultants, collaborating with vehicle OEMs to help them navigate the complexities of battery pack development. Through these collaborations, we identified a common challenge: everyone wanted a battery pack that was custom for them, but few could afford the time, cost, or risk.
Recognising this widespread challenge, IONETIC was founded with a clear mission: to create a better, more efficient way to bring custom battery packs to market. By investing in our own software, hardware, and fabrication technologies, we’ve created a robust system that allows us to deliver world-leading battery packs to market faster and cheaper than anyone else.

FAQ
Who we are, how we are certified, and how the company started.
Who makes custom battery packs in the UK?
IONETIC is a UK battery pack designer and manufacturer, with a battery fabrication and industrialisation centre, Arc Fab Pilot, in Brackley, Northamptonshire, and an R&D and battery pack development lab in London. Our quality management system is certified to ISO 9001:2015 by BSI for the design and manufacture of battery systems for propulsion and energy storage applications.
Is IONETIC ISO 9001 certified?
Yes. IONETIC's quality management system is certified to ISO 9001:2015 by BSI for the design and manufacture of battery systems for propulsion and energy storage applications. The scope covers the design work as well as the manufacturing, which matters when the same organisation is responsible for both.
Who founded IONETIC?
IONETIC was founded in 2022 by James Eaton, CEO, and Dr Monica Marinescu, Chief Science Officer and an Associate Professor at Imperial College London. The team came out of Imperial College London and began as consultants working with vehicle OEMs on battery pack development, where they kept meeting the same problem: every manufacturer wanted a pack that was custom to them, but few could afford the time, cost or risk. IONETIC was founded to remove that trade-off, by investing in its own software, hardware and fabrication technologies rather than running bespoke development one programme at a time. The company is chaired by Dr Andy Palmer, former CEO of Aston Martin and COO of Nissan.
